DecarbonSmart's Privacy Policy
Your Data is Secure with Us
Responsibility of Contributors
At DecarbonSmart Energy Solutions, we take data privacy seriously and expect the same from every team member. All contributors must safeguard client and user data as sensitive information. We provide training upon hiring and reinforce responsible data handling through evaluations and culture. Violations jeopardize trust and contradict our ethical principles. If users suspect misuse, they can email privacy@decarbonsmart.com to spur an investigation. Though rare, confirmed violations warrant termination.
Gathering and Use of Personal Information
Our services sometimes require collecting limited client business and contact data to customize sustainability strategies, including employee counts, facility locations, energy usage statistics, and critical decision-maker names/roles. We gather and utilize this information strictly to deliver services outlined in consulting contracts. Data is stored securely in compliance with legislation and only shared with vetted third-party tools we may leverage to model usage, emissions, renewable potential, etc.
Protection of Personal Information
DecarbonSmart pledges to keep identifying data protected through encryption, access limitations, multiparty authorization, audits, and other best practices. We aim to collect, retain and share only necessary data, deleting all copies upon project completion per agreements. Users can email privacy@decarbonsmart.com to delete records, opt-out of communications or check what data we retain. Though breaches are improbable thanks to safeguards, we will notify any individuals impacted should an incident occur.
